About the Role
Our Controller is responsible for month-end close across multiple entities — including consolidations, budgeting, reconciliations, account analysis, journal entries, and ad hoc reporting. This role supports critical accounting, reporting, and internal control functions across domestic and international business units.
What You'll Do
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities — including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, payroll, and capitalized software
- Prepare and analyze accurate, timely financial statements: income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Work with executive management to establish financial benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, and annual basis
- Participate in the collaborative forecasting and budgeting process, incorporating key business drivers and strategies
- Perform monthly revenue recognition in conjunction with the project management team
- Maintain accounting records and internal controls, including contracts, workpapers, policies, and timelines
- Ensure accuracy of physical inventory and reported results; investigate and explain book-to-physical adjustments
- Ensure bill of materials and costing accurately reflect production operations — including labor, materials, overhead, distribution, returns, and inventory levels
- Analyze potential excess and obsolete inventory items
- Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and other departments across the organization
- Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field — CPA or CMA designation highly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in general accounting and financial reporting, including internal controls
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Knowledge of job costing principles and project accounting practices
- Strong aptitude for ERP and financial/accounting systems
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to produce accurate, complete, and timely work
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned projects with minimal oversight
- Excellent communication skills — comfortable working across all levels of the organization
