About the Role

This role is responsible for NovaTech's electrical power measurement product portfolio — from initial strategy and development through launch, support, and end-of-life. You'll serve as the internal subject matter expert for power measurement devices used in substation and grid edge applications, and act as the voice of the customer by translating utility and grid edge market needs into clear, actionable product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Develop and maintain a product strategy for the measurement portfolio that aligns with NovaTech's mission and long-term goals
  • Build and update a product roadmap that reflects both short- and long-term development plans, keeping pace with market and customer needs
  • Identify opportunities for product line expansion, including adjacent applications and emerging grid modernization trends
  • Evaluate build vs. buy vs. partner options for new product capabilities

Market Analysis & Customer Engagement

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape within the power utility industry
  • Use market intelligence to inform product positioning and feature prioritization
  • Build and maintain relationships with utility customers, system integrators, and industry stakeholders through site visits, advisory boards, and direct feedback sessions
  • Monitor regulatory and standards developments (IEEE, IEC) that may affect product requirements or open new market opportunities
  • Represent NovaTech at industry trade shows, conferences, and technical working groups

Product Development & Launch

  • Work closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing to define product requirements, specifications, and timelines that balance technical feasibility with market demand
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure products meet industry standards for reliability and performance
  • Coordinate product launch activities including marketing campaigns, sales training, and customer support documentation
  • Develop go-to-market strategies including competitive positioning, value propositions, and sales enablement materials
  • Coordinate beta testing programs with key customers to validate product-market fit before general availability

Financial Performance & Analytics

  • Define pricing strategies, manage product budgets and forecasts, and keep products profitable while staying competitive
  • Track KPIs including product adoption rates, customer satisfaction scores, and market share to support continuous improvement
  • Conduct regular product line profitability reviews and make recommendations for product rationalization or end-of-life decisions

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field required
  • 5+ years of product management experience with technical B2B products in power utility, industrial automation, or adjacent industries
  • Demonstrated track record of bringing products from concept to market
  • Master's degree in engineering or MBA preferred
  • Direct experience with electrical power measurement devices or substation automation equipment preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical understanding of AC power measurement
  • Familiarity with automation protocols including DNP3, IEC 61850, and C37.118
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communicator with the ability to influence across teams without direct authority
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to translate technical requirements into business value
