Position Overview

The Director of Manufacturing provides strategic leadership and oversight of all manufacturing operations, directly managing key department leaders. Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Manufacturing Excellence
  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategy aligned with overall business objectives
  • Champion lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies across all operations
  • Drive implementation of best practices in manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operational efficiency
  • Ensure manufacturing operations support company growth objectives and market demands
Team Leadership & Development
  • Directly manage and mentor key manufacturing department leaders across two geographical locations
  • Demonstrate humility in leadership by actively listening to team input and acknowledging areas for improvement
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving at all levels
  • Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability for departmental results
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as primary liaison between manufacturing operations and executive leadership
  • Facilitate effective communication between manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, and sales teams
  • Lead regular operations reviews and present manufacturing performance to senior leadership
  • Ensure transparent communication of goals, expectations, and feedback throughout the organization
Business Management & Financial Oversight
  • Apply strong business sense to balance operational efficiency with cost management and profitability
  • Develop and manage manufacturing budgets, capital expenditure plans, and cost reduction initiatives
  • Analyze manufacturing metrics and KPIs to drive data-informed decision making
  • Evaluate ROI on process improvements, equipment investments, and operational changes
  • Support business development efforts by providing manufacturing feasibility assessments and capacity analysis
Operational Excellence & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements
  • Oversee facility management, equipment maintenance, and capital project execution
  • Drive implementation of manufacturing systems, technology upgrades, and process improvements
  • Maintain focus on customer satisfaction through on-time delivery and quality performance
  • Lead crisis management and business continuity planning for manufacturing operations
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience with 3+ years in senior management roles
  • Proven track record of managing managers and leading cross-functional teams
